7 Keys to Remarkable Leadership! [Key #2]

Critical thinking for leadership.

Key #2 for Remarkable Leadership is Leading with Heart!

Heart means so much more than to love, care for, or to have affection for someone.

It’s qualities are something almost everyone admires in a leader like courage, wisdom, compassion, right action, character, passion and power.

Here’s an interesting fact. In the ancient wisdom teachings the power of universe is described as Heart.

So why is leading with Heart so important…and why should you care?

Because great leaders learn how to blend the analytical with the emotional. Because love and belonging are a basic human need and to ignore this as a leader is at your own peril.

An important note here: I’m not saying you have to tell your employees, vendors and customers you love them…that would or might be inappropriate.

What I’m saying is that it’s a huge mistake not to model Heart and all great leaders have.

You model it by showing a genuine care for people’s well being and leading with passion and courage. You let people know with your actions that working with you is so much more than a paycheck or a product.

Leading with Heart is how you create a movement, and movements are about taking things to a whole new level. As a leader you can create a movement for your team within your organization by leading with Heart. I’ve seen it happen.

The ramifications of not leading with Heart…
– Your leadership will be common.
– Your results will be ordinary.
– And, your employees and customers will show up because they don’t have any other alternative.

I’m sure you don’t want any of those!

Brian Tracy said, ”Become the kind of leader that people would follow voluntarily, even if you had no title or position.”

In my experience if you want this type of reaction from those you lead you have to use Heart.

“Great leaders have a Heart for people. They take time for people. They view people as the bottom line, not as a tool to get to the bottom line.” —Pat Williams

This quote by Pat Williams beautifully sums up what it means to lead with Heart.

To the possible,
John
